Premier Alliance adjusts four Far East - USloops |

The members of the Premier Alliance (ONE, HMMand Yang Ming) have announced rotation changes for four loops between the FarEast and the US. Two of them are related to the suspension ofthe Far East ?California ?S5?service which used to serve Qingdao, Ningbo,Long Beach, Oakland, Kobe, Qingdao. Direct calls at Ningbo are retaken by the?S4?loop, as was the case before the launch of the ?S5?last June. The addition of Ningbo will go at the expenseof Xiamen, which is however already covered by the ?S7?service, operatedjointly by Wan Hai and ONE with HMM and Yang Ming taking slots. The Transpacific Southwest ?S4?willcontinue to turn in seven weeks with seven 6,600 ?8,600 teu ships calling atYantian, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Ningbo, Los Angeles, Oakland, Keelung, Kaohsiung,Yantian. The new schedule will be followed as from the6 October with the departure of the 8,626 teu YM UPSURGENCE ex Yantian. Qingdao will be re-instated in the rotationof the ?S6?loop. This service will continue to turn in eightweeks with eight HMM-operated 13,250 ?13,800 teu ships calling at Qingdao,Ningbo, Shanghai, Kwangyang, Busan, Long Beach, Oakland, Busan, Kwangyang,Incheon, Qingdao. The first ?S6?vessel to berth at Qingdaoagain, will be the 13,253 teu HMM RUBY on 21 September. Two other rotation changes are not related tothe suspension of the ?S5?loop. An additional Busan call will be added at the of September on the Transpacific leg of the North Europe ?Far East ?USWest Coast ?P2?pulum loop, while Norfolk will become an extra stop for theFar East ?US East Coast ?C2?service.
