Ascargo demand on the Transpacific is currently surging following the 90-daytruce in the US-China trade war, China United Lines (CULines) has decided tore-enter the trade between China and the US West Coast, which it left in June2023. The Chinese carrier will launch a ?ranspacific West Coast I?service(TP1) which will turn in six weeks calling at Shekou (Shenzhen), Ningbo,Qingdao, Long Beach, Shekou. A first sailing will be offered on 8 June fromShekou with the 2,758 teu CUL MANILA. Four more 2,430 ?2,770 teu ships havealready been nominated for the next sailings in June. Most of these ships arecurrently deployed in Far East ?Red Sea loops. High cargo demand from China toNorth America continues to push up ocean freight rates.
