COSCO exts Far East-USEC loop to South East Asia |

Laem Chabang on 9 May became the new starting port for the rotation of the fifth Far East ?US East Coast loop of the OCEAN Alliance, a service operated jointly by sister carriers COSCO SHIPPING Lines (?WE4? and OOCL (?CX1?. At the same time, calls at the Vietnamese port of Cai Mep were reinstated while calls at Colon are ped. COSCO? 13,800 teu COSCO SHIPPING SAKURA was the last vessel to call at the Panamanian port this week. The ?WE4?/ ?CX1? branded as ?outh Atlantic Express?(?AX? by alliance partners CMA CGM and Evergreen, now turns in thirteen weeks (two extra) with 13 x 13,100 ?13,800 teu vessels. It calls at Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Hong Kong, Yantian, Xiamen, Shanghai ?(Panama Canal) ?New York, Savannah, Charleston, Laem Chabang. For Laem Chabang, the new ?WE4?/ ?CX1?call compensates for the loss of another Asia ?USEC Ocean Alliance loop, operated by CMA CGM as ?BX?
