Evergreen is to ext from mid-April its Panama - Jamaica - Haiti ¡®CAJ¡¯ weekly service, which calls at Manzanillo (Pan), Colon-Coco Solo, Kingston, Port-au-Prince, Manzanillo (Pan), to the US ports of Port Everglades, New Orleans and Houston, allowing the carrier to offer a direct service between the US and Haiti.
The exted ¡®CAJ¡¯ service will call at Manzanillo (Pan), Colon-Coco Solo, Kingston, Port Au Prince, Port Everglades, New Orleans, Houston, Manzanillo (Pan). The service will turn in three weeks, using three tered vessels, the 1,550 teu ARKADIA, the 1,732 teu ACRUX N and the 2,468 teu BUXLINK. The first departure of the revised service will be ensured by the ARKADIA on 16 April from Manzanillo, calling at Port au Prince on 22 April, Port Everglades on 25 April, New Orleans on 29 April and Houston on 02 May.
Sealand Americas (the Maersk group¡¯s US branch) will take slots on the service, in continuation of the slot arrangement with Evergreen on the current ¡®CAJ¡¯ service, and will market the new US calls as well. On that basis, it is unclear if Sealand Americas will maintain the USHaiti offering it currently provides through slots on Crowley¡¯s FloridaDominican Republic & Haiti weekly service.
Of note, MSC is providing a US-Haiti connection covering similar ports as the exted CAJ, with its Florida-Caribbean-Gulf weekly service, which calls at Houston, New Orleans, Freeport (Bah), Port Everglades, Rio Haina, Caucedo, Port au Prince, Kingston, Houston, using three ships of 2,800-3,300 teu.
