CBP announced in CSMS #42364745, dated April 14, 2020, that due to the high volume of inquiries, it is mitigating the COVID-19 inbox to a COVID-19 Relief Imports Web Portal (https://imports.cbp.gov). This replaces the email address for all cargo inquiries related to the importation of medical supplies to fight the spread of COVID-19. The web portal contains common topic areas regarding admissibility, cargo hold/facilitation assistance, PPE importing guidelines and PPE classification/duty questions along with top articles, news links and basic guidance. Under the FAQs portion of the portal is contact information for the FDA along with links to other COVID resources. Submission of direct inquiries can be made to the COVID-19 Cargo Resolution Team (CCRT) through the ¡°Submit Contact Request¡± button found at the bottom of the FAQs page. CBP states it will the portal and upload important information on a daily basis. Again, the portal can be accessed by visiting https://imports.cbp.gov.
