Evergreen has announced the launch of a USWC - Asia - Middle East Transpacific Arabian (TPA) service through the combination of its Transpacific ¡®TPS¡¯ with the Far East-Middle East Gulf ¡®APG¡¯. A new eastbound call at Cai Mep will be added in the process. The launch of the ¡®TPA¡¯ pulum is made within the framework of the OCEAN Alliance network, with both strings part of the carrier¡¯ group¡¯s new ¡®Day 4 Product¡¯. The new ¡®TPA¡¯ will turn in twelve weeks with 12 x 6,300-7,000 teu ships (all provided by Evergreen) calling at Los Angeles, Oakland, Tacoma, Kaohsiung, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shekou, Port Kelang (Westport), Jebel Ali, Umm Qasr, Jebel Ali, Port Kelang, Cai Mep, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Taipei, Los Angeles. The pulum service will be launched with the 23 April sailing of the 7,023 teu EVER SHINE from Shanghai to the Middle East. The Transpacific string of the new ¡®TPA¡¯ will succeed to the OCEAN Alliance ¡®PSW8¡¯ loop on which also CMA CGM, COSCO and APL coload using the respective ¡®JDX¡¯ (Jade Express), ¡®AAS4¡¯ and ¡®SC8¡¯ brand names. The new ¡®TPA¡¯ will not continue the eastbound call at Yantian and the westbound call at Hong Kong of the ¡®PSW8¡¯. The Far East - Middle East string of the new pulum service will succeed to the OCEAN Alliance ¡®MEA4¡¯ loop, on which CMA CGM (¡®CIMEX6¡¯), COSCO Shipping Lines (¡®MEX5¡¯), OOCL (¡®ME4¡¯) and APL (¡®GA2¡¯) are co-loading. The new ¡®TPA¡¯ will not retake the westbound Taipei and Tanjung Pelepas calls. Of note, Evergreen will save one ship through the combination of services, compared to the combined fleet of the current ¡®TPS¡¯
