CMA CGM, COSCO Shipping Lines, Evergreen and OOCL (COSCO Group) have reached an agreement on the new Day 5 Product of their OCEAN Alliance on the major East West trades, which will be introduced in April 2021. The ¡®Day 5 Product¡¯ includes 39 liner services and will use 333 containerships. It will have an estimated fleet capacity (i.e. static capacity) of around 4.1 Mteu. This compares to a total of 38 liner services, 325 ships and a vessel capacity of 3.76 Mteu announced last for the current ¡®Day 4 Product¡¯. The ¡®Day 5 Product¡¯ is largely identical to the current offering. Of note, the extra service included in the new network is the COSCO operated Indian Subcontinent - South East Asia - China - USWC ¡®AACI¡¯ service, which is in fact not new. It was operated one year ago by COSCO and Wan Hai Lines outside the OAL scope. As the Vessel Sharing Agreement of COSCO and Wan Hai has been terminated, the ¡®AACI¡¯ now becomes one of the alliance nine Pacific South West Services. Of note, CMA CGM, Evergreen and OOCL are currently already taking slots and branding it as ¡®AS4¡¯ (CMA CGM), ¡®SEA¡¯ (Evergreen) and ¡®VCS¡¯ (OOCL). Asia-Europe One the few changes in the seven loops of the Asia - North Europe network is the extension of the Evergreen operated ¡®CES¡¯ service (aka NEU7) to Tianjin. The port in Northern China is added to the rotation at the expense of Kaohsiung. OOCL no longer lists Kwangyang as part of the rotation of its ¡®LL1¡¯ service (aka NEU1). CMA CGM is to reshuffle the West Med calls of its ¡®FAL1¡¯ and ¡®FAL3¡¯ services (aka as NEU4 and NEU5), whereby Tanger Med will gain an extra weekly call at the expense of Algeciras. There are no rotation changes planned for the four Asia - Med loops. Transpacific The new proforma schedule for the CMA CGM operated Far East - USWC ¡®Pearl River Express¡¯ (PRX aka PSW1) does no longer show the current calls at Kaohsiung and Fuzhou. Another change on the Transpacific South West is the removal of SERVICE UPDATES Yantian from the Evergreen-operated ¡®HTW¡¯ service (aka PSW7), while Busan is to replace Tokyo in the rotation of the Evergreen operated ¡®CPS¡¯ service (aka PSW5). The eastbound leg of the abovementioned COSCO-operated ¡®AASI¡¯ ISC - FE - USWC service will be exted to Qingdao in Northern China at the expense of current calls at Shekou and Nansha. The only rotation change spotted for the four Transpacific North West OAL services is the removal of Kwangyang, South Korea, from the CMA CGM-operated ¡®Columbus PNW¡¯ service (aka PNW1). No port omissions or additions are planned for the seven Asia - ECNA & US Gulf services. The same goes for the four Asia - Middle East loops, the two Asia - Red Sea Services and the two Transatlantic services ex North Europe. SM Line to offer third Transpacific South West service SM Line is to launch a Central China-California service branded as PS6 by taking slots on the TP3 / Sequoia service operated by Maersk and MSC. This service turns in six weeks with 6 x 13,100 - 15,000 teu ships calling at Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Ningbo. The first sailing on which SM Line will co-load is planned on 29 January from Ningbo with the 14,036 teu MSC SAVONA. Maersk, MSC and SM Line have concluded a cooperative working agreement on the trade between China, South Korea and the West Coast of North America earlier this year. SM has in fact replaced HMM as a partner of the 2M Vessel Sharing Agreement on this trade. The Korean carrier provides two ships for the Far East-WCNA TP8 / Orient / PS1 service. Apart from operating one joint loop, the 2M / SM cooperating agreement also gives SM Line access to the Transpacific leg of the 2M Europe-FE-USWC AE6 - TP2 / Lion - Jaguar pulum service whi
